DetectiveOSINT25 XP

In February 1979, a 17-foot Boston Whaler carrying five fishermen disappeared during a storm off the coast of Maui, Hawaii, after entering a channel that the U.S. Coast Guard has called one of the most treacherous in the world. The channel's Hawaiian name translates roughly as 'great billows smashing.' Nine years later, the boat was found on the northernmost atoll of the Marshall Islands, over 2,000 miles away. Using publicly available sources, identify: (1) the name of the channel, (2) the name of the atoll where the boat was found, and (3) the name of the marine biologist who discovered the wreckage — who had also participated in the original 1979 search.
